In 2018, Karan represented a joint venture formed by an Italian listed company in a multi-party ICC arbitration arising from the construction of stadiums for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The amount of claims and counterclaims exceeded US$500 million. The dispute was complex and involved contractual liability clauses. interpretation, admissibility of claims and counterclaims, design and development issues, etc.
We have prepared an expert report for Indian clients on res judicata issues in international arbitration.
I have prepared an application for intervention to the Euro-American Court of Human Rights regarding the interpretation and application of Article 6 rights.
